BWWS Internship Program

Black Women Who Style is a local organization for black wardrobe stylists and fashion creatives. Our hope as an organization is to connect stylists all over the world with opportunities by showcasing them and their work, forming collaborations among-st other stylists in order to create a bond and celebrating successful stylists and their overall achievements.

Since April of 2018, we've been growing our platform via social media and local events. We focus our time on creating stylish content, educating other fashion creatives and highlighting successful stylistas.

FASHION BLOGGER

DESCRIPTION

Black Women Who Style is seeking a Blogger Intern to assist with video, photography content, and executing social media and traditional public relations, and contribute new ideas to the Black Women Who Style website. With knowledge of fashion and culture, this awesome individual will be passionate about creating engaging content from inception to completion and must be passionate with all things online. The ideal candidate has some experience in blogging, photography, social media, and is active in online forums within the blogging community.

The ideal candidate will be an excellent writer and have great camera presence. Candidate must possess an understanding of digital marketing and how to effectively reach today's consumer online. This position will focus on creating content for our social media pages, YouTube Channel, blog and eCommerce website and developing creative meaningful marketing campaigns. The position will require a commitment of 10-20 hours per week, 6-months and is unpaid.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Understand and create content that aligns with our customer’s interests and needs

  • Write attention-grabbing website content, email marketing blasts, Facebook group and blog articles on deadline

  • Build collaborative relationships between Black Women Who Style and external influencers, bloggers, alliances, and brand-relevant content creators

  • Assist in all areas of the content creation process (i.e. flatlays, lives, photography, and videos)

REQUIREMENTS

  • Entrepreneurial Spirit: passionate about fashion and building something original

  • Experience in creating meaningful and valuable content in the form of blogs, videos, and graphic design.

  • Knowledge of Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest, YouTube

  • Exceptional attention to detail and ability to multitask in a deadline-driven atmosphere

  • Desire to work in a fast-moving environment with moving parts and unforeseen requests

  • Strong organizational, problem solving and time management skills

  • Take on additional company projects as needed (flexibility is key)

  • Result driven/Doer mentality

  • Not afraid to fail & take risk

  • Must live in Maryland, DC, or Northern Virginia area.

  • Must be able to meet with CEO once a week.

PRINT MODEL

DESCRIPTION

Black Women Who Style is seeking a PRINT MODEL (Intern) to assist with video, photography content, and social media Ambassador Relations. With knowledge of fashion and culture, this awesome individual will be passionate about creating engaging content from inception to completion and must be passionate with all things online. The ideal candidate has some experience in commercial print work, social media lookbook campaigns, and runway work. Excellent camera presence is a must. 

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Participate in live streams and modeling for website and social media

  • Help grow Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and YouTube presence

  • Understand and create content that aligns with our customer’s interests and needs

  • Researching potential photographers

  • Researching potential glam and beauty experts

REQUIREMENTS

  • Experience in creating meaningful and valuable content in the form of blogs, videos, and graphic design

  • Knowledge of Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest, YouTube
